A Message From OUR President
...
Welcome to the Delta Phi Chapter of Delta Gamma at UC Irvine! It is with great pleasure that I invite you to browse through our website to get a glimpse of what it means to be a part of our sisterhood. Delta Gamma offers women an incredibly unique and meaningful experience that prioritizes scholarship, philanthropy, sisterhood, and so much more. Our chapter is comprised of 130 accomplished and well-rounded women who strive to uphold our values of friendship, service, and academic excellence. As a chapter, we are proud of the diverse backgrounds and interests each woman offers and the values that have united us as an organization.
Our motto is simple, “Do Good.” Delta Gamma encourages its members to uphold our motto by instilling the importance of service and helping others. Our philanthropy, Service for Sight, aims to aid the lives of the visually impaired and those around them, and holds a special place in our hearts. Throughout the year, we volunteer at various sight related organizations such as the Blind Children’s Learning Center in Tustin, Flagship Healthcare center in Newport beach, and the Braille Institute in Anaheim. Delta Gamma’s ability to help make a difference in the lives of others is truly inspiring, and always reminds us of how important our commitment to doing good is.
On campus, you can find DGs doing good wherever you go, whether it be in UCI Athletics, undergraduate research, student leadership in ASUCI, peer tutoring, arts performances, or a variety of other campus organizations. In addition to our involvements at school, DGs also have a strong presence off campus, through volunteering, as well as internships, and even study abroad programs- it’s fair to say that we always have a sister to turn to no matter where we are in life!
Since joining the chapter my freshman year, I have been privileged enough to experience the true meaning of Delta Gamma’s sisterhood that bonds thousands of women before me and continues to grow today. Delta Gamma has truly helped shape me into the woman I am today and has given me so much to be thankful for. I found my best friends and made memories to last a lifetime. But, more importantly, I found a group of women who have positively influenced my college experience through their friendship, encouragement, and support. We hope that you will soon see that Delta Gamma is not just four years, it’s for life.
All my Delta Gamma love,
Chloe Kumamoto
